5 tips for bouquet care:

Cut the flowers: After unpacking the flowers, cut them with a sharp knife. You can use a kitchen knife. Flowers with soft stems, such as tulips and gerberas, can be cut straight. Roses and sunflowers have hard stems.
Clean the vase: Fill a suitable, clean vase with water, making sure that no leaves fall into the water. For roses it is important that the stem is at least half way up the stem. For flowers such as tulips or lilies, about a third of the stem should be in the water.
Change the water: Change the water and clean the vase every two to three days. A new stem will also prolong the life of the plant.
Remove wilted flowers: If you have dried or wilted flowers in your bouquet, remove them to prevent the formation of germs. If a stem has dried out, you can cut it back to allow it to reabsorb water.
Avoid direct sunlight: Apart from a clean vase, the most important factor in the longevity of a bouquet is its location. Place the bouquet out of direct sunlight. Also avoid placing a bowl of fruit next to the flowers as this will cause the bouquet to wilt more quickly.
